Providing intensive Infant Mental Health (IMH) training to clinicians and professionals serving caregivers and young children world wide.
Many adult diseases have their roots in early childhood. Adverse circumstantial and environmental stressors such as poverty, domestic violence, substance abuse, the death of a parent and incarceration of a family member can contribute to ill health throughout a lifetime. A safe and responsive caregiving relationship is not only important to healthy child development, but may also moderate the negative health effects of early adversities in the life of the individual. Our IMH intensive mini course gives frontline medical and social service professionals the tools they need to support the primary caregiver/infant relationship.
The IMH Course, entitled Protect, Nurture and Enjoy, has three components: lectures, clinical experiences and family interviews. If you are interested in watching a video of the full lecture component, you can access it via YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-tRj7EForw
