Supporting Child Caregivers is a non-profit organization based in the United States dedicated to providing support to child caregivers—parents and others—in various settings around the world. Accumulating evidence suggests that the foundation of health and wellbeing begins in infancy and that infants may be protected from stress in the environment by good caregiving. Supporting Child Caregivers gives front-line health workers the information and practical tools they need to support the child-caregiver relationship and in that way build the foundation for a healthy society.

The emphasis of SCC is on collaboration with local institutions. Our collaborators help us identify the values, beliefs, and expressed interests and needs of parents in local cultures and then work with us to deliver helpful information to child caregivers in their communities. In addition to our institutional collaborators, we have teams of young professionals, other health workers, and educators in the United States, India, Pakistan, Peru, El Salvador, and China, that volunteer their time, energy, and insights towards the goal of supporting the healthy development of infants throughout the world.
